  16. films; in Santa Monica, California. Born James Lablanche Stewart
  17. in Britain, where he began his career in repertory theater,
  18. Granger became one of the country's leading romantic actors
  19. before arriving in Hollywood in 1950. He changed his name to
  20. avoid confusion with Jimmy Stewart, and played opposite many
  21. of Hollywood's most glamorous actresses, including Vivien Leigh,
  22. Ava Gardner, Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor. Among his films
  23. are King Solomon's Mines (1950), The Prisoner of Zenda (1952)
  24. and Beau Brummell (1954).
